Cereal Mix

It seems like every box of cereal I look at either lacks taste or is loaded with sugar or chemicals so I make up my own to start the day with the fiber and protein that my body needs. And it is heart healthy.

Ingredients
4 cups Post spoon-sized shredded wheat and bran
(OR use Nature's Path Gluten-Free Organic Corn Flakes)
3 cups old fashioned oats
½ cup ground flax seed
½ cup raisins
½ cup chopped unsalted peanuts or walnuts
¼ cup unsalted, raw or roasted sunflower seeds
¼ cup unsalted, raw or roasted pumpkin seeds
2-5 tbsp. brown rice protein (to taste or protein requirement)
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions
Combine all ingredients in an empty large oats container or equivalent. Cover and shake to mix. Each day spoon into bowl with your choice of fruit and skim or soy milk. I use blueberries, bananas, skim and add a bit of soy if I want it a little sweeter. Feel free to change the ingredients to suit your tastes. Any dried fruits, nuts or seeds will work fine.

Makes about a weeks worth of cereal.
